We hope you are having a wonderful and peaceful Winter Break, with lots of time for reading! I am steadily working through my “Books To Read”-list. Blissful!
There are a few things I’d like to share with you in these calm days between the Winter Solstice and the New Year:
- In the week before our Winter Break, our PYP and LGRP students have expressed their interests in what kind of Creative Activities they would like to participate in as part of our Creative School Project (financed by a grant given by the National Council of the Arts). Take a look at the photos to see what activities received the most votes! Our next step is to brainstorm in more detail what the students would like to learn, and then of course we will set out to organize these cultural and creative experiences for all of our ISGR students at the Guldheden Campus! (For the school year of 2019 – 2020, so we have to be patient).
- If at all possible, we would like to have a few parents reading to students in the library after school during our Community Week, taking place in week 4. If you are available from 14.30 – 15.00, and you have a beautiful or fun picture book to share, please email Fleur (firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you in advance for your time and read aloud voices!
- On Tuesday, January 8th, there is a fun workshop for students 8 years old and up at the Guldheden Library (Dr. Fries Torget, close to our school). In this workshop they will get to try out all sorts of different board games. It is organized by the organisation “Good Stuff” who promote the idea to put our phones and tablets away, and engage with others in playing a board game. More details: Good Stuff Workshop January 8th
I would like to end this post with a fun song I endorse as an IB-educator and library teacher. This song is from the movie Smallfoot, which encourages us to keep asking questions! Hope you see the Wonderful Life we are living!
Wishing you lots of fun & curiosity for 2019!
