The Next Two Weeks

Next week during our library lessons, we will celebrate International Children’s Book Day (April 2nd) by playing an alternative version of Musical Chairs! As well as checking out books, as usual, and read alouds, as always.

The week before Easter Break, we will talk about our reading routines and habits, answering the question, “How can I make time for reading every day?”. Last year around this time, we looked at the question, “Why Read?”, and the students had many different, thoughtful answers. Refresh your memory here (a fun article to read with your child, with lots of visuals!).

There are a few events coming up to note in your calendar. On Saturday, April 6th, writer/illustrator duo Åse Bergström and Johanna Glembo will be at the public library at Dr. Fries Torget, from 11 – 12. The library has also organized two events during Easter Break (for 9 – 12 year olds).

On Monday, April 8th, there will be a “slime” making workshop run by Valentine, Karlotta and Nadia from PYP 4. It will take place in our school library, from 14.30 – 15.30. Check out their posters (put up around the school) on how to buy tickets, etc.

Also, keep an eye on Bokskåpet’s website, as they organize an event every Saturday. Ranging from read alouds, to yoga for children, to author visits.

Last, but not least: Board Game Afternoon again, in our school library, on Friday, April 26th (14.30 – 15.30)!

a good book
