Welcome back to school! We hope you had an active, yet restful, Sports Break. Maybe even with lots of reading. I was able to read these beautiful books:
A few weeks ago, one of our library lessons was filmed. Its purpose is to function as evidence that we meet the standards that the CIS (Council of International Schools) requires. Since it is not possible for a CIS visitation team to be on site, we are asked to send them videos to show them how we work and what we do. At the same time, it is fun for you, as parents, to see how we work in the library as well! Enjoy!
The library is ready for students to return! New displays are set up, with traveling themes. Since we should avoid unnecessary travel, we can read books instead about adventerous journeys, faraway countries or magical places. We have also got a display set up with our new audio books!
This week, and in the coming weeks, we will continue our read alouds during our library lessons. We will start connecting them to the IB Key Concepts.

PYP 1 students will start checking out two books (instead of one)! Which connects to the key concept of ‘responsibility’!
Further ahead is the International Children’s Book Day on the 2nd of April. The week leading up to that (26/3 – 1/4), we will have our ISGR Reading Festival! This year’s focus is ‘The Music of Words’, as that is the theme of the International Children’s Book Day as well. More information coming in a few weeks, including how our online Usborne Book Sale is going to work!

Happy Reading!
